AC side protection
Solar ACDB box
A solar ACDB box protects and isolates the AC output of a solar inverter before it reaches the load or the grid connection. JS Electrical manufactures solar ACDB boxes in single phase and three phase for rooftop and ground-mount plants.

What a solar ACDB box does
The ACDB sits between the inverter and the grid or load side wiring. It carries the incoming MCB or MCCB that isolates the inverter output, a surge protection device that absorbs voltage spikes from lightning or switching, and terminal blocks for the outgoing cable. A technician can isolate the whole AC side from this one box, which is what makes it a required part of the installation rather than an optional add-on.

What we manufacture
- Single phase and three phase ACDB boxes
- MCB or MCCB incomer, sized to the inverter output current
- Type 2 surge protection device on the AC side
- IP65 enclosure with cable glands for outdoor mounting
- Optional energy meter or digital display on request

Where it is used
Rooftop residential and commercial solar installations, ground-mount solar plants, and any grid-tied inverter that needs an isolation and protection point on the AC side before the meter or load panel. It is usually ordered alongside a matching DCDB box and an earthing kit for the same installation.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an ACDB and a DCDB?
An ACDB protects and isolates the AC output side of the inverter, between the inverter and the grid or load. A DCDB does the same job on the DC input side, between the solar panels and the inverter.
How much does a solar ACDB box cost?
Price depends on the phase, the MCB or MCCB rating and the enclosure size. Send us the inverter capacity, for example a 3kW or 5kW system, and we will quote a price for the quantity you need.
Can you build a custom ACDB for our project rating?
Yes. Send the inverter capacity, phase and any site requirements and we will confirm the MCB or MCCB size and surge protection rating before manufacturing.
Do you supply ACDB boxes in bulk for EPC projects?
Yes, we supply single units and project quantities. Send the specification and required delivery schedule with your enquiry.
