Protective earth
Solar earthing kit
An earthing kit bonds the array structure and every enclosure in the installation to a common earth, so that a fault sends current safely to ground instead of through a person or the wiring.
What is in the kit
- Earth electrode, strip or wire depending on the kit type
- Bonding lugs and clamps for the array structure
- Earth connection points for the DCDB, ACDB and inverter body
- Accessories for a complete, ready-to-install set

Kit types
We supply separate kits for the array structure, the equipment enclosures, and lightning protection, or a combined set sized to the whole installation. Tell us the plant size and structure type, rooftop or ground-mount, and we will recommend the right kit or combination.
| Array earthing | Bonds the mounting structure to earth |
|---|---|
| Equipment earthing | Bonds DCDB, ACDB and inverter body to earth |
| Lightning protection earthing | Separate kit for lightning arrestor systems where fitted |
Why it matters
Every enclosure we manufacture, the ACDB, the DCDB and the MCB boxes, is built with an earth connection point. The earthing kit is what completes the path from those points back to ground, which is why we treat it as part of the same protection line rather than an optional accessory.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need separate kits for the array and the equipment?
Many installations use one kit for the mounting structure and a separate one for the equipment enclosures. We can also recommend a combined set for smaller systems.
What does a solar earthing kit cost?
Price depends on the electrode material, length and how many earthing points your installation needs. Tell us the plant size and whether it is rooftop or ground-mount, and we will quote a price for the quantity you need.
Does the earthing kit cover lightning protection?
A standard earthing kit covers array and equipment earthing. Where a lightning protection system is fitted, it needs its own earthing kit, which we also supply.
